We were lucky to source some local Waiheke Clay that reminded us of the original clay we first brought out in Māwhero - pink.
This clay is hand foraged and proceeded in studio, this is 100% wild Waiheke clay from Te Wairoa Awe Hua Kura or Ngāti Paoa whenua.
10% of all sales will be invested back into the Piritahi Marae here on Waiheke.
The tumblers are thrown at the wheel and glazed in our bespoke Māwhero glaze, Mawhero is a rich satin glaze, a mid pink.
These tumblers are around 8.5cm tall and 7.5cm wide. Being made in wild clay please allow for more warbi sabi elements and imperfections, they are also a smaller size then our standard flat white tumbler. They are very close in size to the original pink tumbler.
There is a range of clay results as it is wild clay, some have blushed very dark and some have wild clay elements coming through. I will list these as seperate options if you have a preference. The creamy clay is the majority, Darker blushing is darker clay and birth marks are wild clay particles coming through.
This is a limited edition of 48 tumblers and there will not be another run of these as there is no more clay available.
