This vessel is hand thrown on the pottery wheel with unprocessed uku from Waiheke Island. This was collected from the wider Te Hurihi bay and was left in it's most unprocessed form. You will see a rang of colours and clumps of pigments coming through the uku.
This uku was harvested on Ngāti Paoa whenua.
Glazed internally with a clear glaze, a small lug is attached and lashed with muka and a houhere tassel. Muka and houhere is from Mandy Milner, tassel and lashings made in studio.
This is a one-off piece, apart of a wider collection celebrating Waiheke uku, 10% of sales will be gifted back to Maori kaupapa on Waiheke.
This ipu is 17cm tall
