Thrown on the pottery wheel, each vase is unique. Angled edges and classic mid century shapes are a theme in this series.
Thrown in Brutalist and glazed in kirikiri which is a subtle but rustic glaze picking up on the natural elements of the clay, this glaze can be glossy in parts and has wonderful crystallisation, which are celebrated. Kirikiri means sand or shoreline in te reo māori.
These vases are perfect for blooms, dried flowers, as they are or in a collection.
We are offering this shape in two sizes.
xtra large - around 21 cm tall and 9cm at the narrow neck
large - around 17cm tall 8 cm at the narrow neck
The angled shape nods to Hine-uku-rangi the goddess of clay and her womanly form.
